It comes nicely packaged. It could definitely be sent as a gift. It is unfinished natural wood, but looks great as is or it could be stained. Buy it!There is no back to the frame- just be aware in case that matters to you.it works for my needs though and the price was right. This is a great way to display my dad's album. If you're looking to display you're album collection this perfect. Easy slide in/out access, solid wood frame. Love it.Very well made and good buy for the money, very well packaged in sturdy container!Pros: Light weight, easy to get your vinyl & out of, will hold a gate-fold album WITH the vinyl inside & in a sleeveCons: Star knocked off for being more open than I'd like. The back is COMPLETELY open (no covering at all), and the side you slide the record in & out of is also completely open. There's no way this is going to keep anything completely dust-free.Some slightly thicker albums might get stuck (Foo Fighters Greatest Hits, in an external sleeve, almost got stuck, otherwise, this will work for what you need. Additionally, the hanger on the back is easily removable so if you're looking to hang this with command strips (so as to not damage walls), you can.The inner grooves that hold the acrylic in place are also not painted, so easily visible.I'd definitely recommend this for thicker (just not too thick) albums, but suggest keeping an external sleeve on the album if you want true dust protection. The frames\cases seem sturdy; albums fit nicely into the space. Access to the album is slightly different than I anticipated . . . it is from the side, instead of the back of the front panel. Consequently the album space is not sealed as well as I expected, but the side access means that the album will not fall out when the case is opened. I am quite satisfied.Great product top quality craftsmanshipI expected the back to be closed/covered, same as the front, it is not.Otherwise exactly what I expected, does the job of displaying an album, and makes it easy to access while still hanging up.Absolutely perfect. I've mounted it so that the hinge is at the bottom (ie you open the frame by pulling the top down) and it's on the wall above my turntable. This means I can display the cover of the album that is playing (and it stops me from putting it on the table and rushing someone using it as a drinks coaster! ).Sturdy, strong magnetic catch means that this works with no danger of a heavyweight cover making it fall open.Really pleased.Firstly, the color of this is like unstained pine, nothing like it is in the pictures. Secondly the aperture is slightly larger than a record cover, so it doesn't sit behind it fully. Thirdly there is nothing to hold the record in place, so the cover falls and moves around, ending up tilted in the frame which looks terrible. Avoid.Don’t waste album art!! It’s there to be displayed and seen. Now I can be inspired by a different album cover every week. This is just what I needed for my new office.Frame is sold and simple to insert an album.Great product.Poor quality, found better frame at half the price. Not good enough to display my precious records.Very nice frame. Although I have since been advised to store your records behind UV protected glass. I keep this one in a corner away from sunlight. Would recommend in a dark room.
